Alexei Ulyukaev: Russian investment projects in Indonesia included to the "top ten" priority
Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexey Ulyukaev "on the fields" of a joint forum of the OECD and the G20 for international investment, 2015 opened in Istanbul (Turkey), held negotiations with the Minister of trade of the Republic of Indonesia Thomas Trikasikh Lembong.
Alexey Ulyukaev noticed the fact that the result of seven months of 2015 year, bilateral commodity turnover made 1,106.3 mln. dollars. “I hope that successful implementation of the Russian-Indonesian investment projects will allow not only raise indicators of the mutual trade, but also will improve them qualitatively", - the Russian Minister said.
According to the Indonesian Minister of trade, the largest, realized by the Russian companies in the territory of Indonesia, project of construction of the railroad for transportation of coal and of the accompanying infrastructure of Kalimantan island, is included by the government of this country to the "top ten" priority projects. Beginning of realization of the "top ten" priority projects is planned by the Government of Indonesia to implement by the end of 2015, and to complete they within 5 years.
Besides, in the number of the large projects realized by the Russian companies on the territory of Indonesia includes modernization of the aluminum smelter in the Northern Sumatra province and construction of bauxite and alumina plant in West Kalimantan province. On Sulawesi island it is planned the field development and organization of industries for the processing of nickel ores.
According to Alexey Ulyukaev, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, interaction in the nuclear energy area developed at a great pace with the first phase of the experimental energy reactor construction in progress.
During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June 2015, Rosneft and Pertamina, Indonesian company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for crude oil and oil product sale. Alexey Ulyukaev said that the Russia business mission would focus on those matters as well as joint production and refining of gas and oil, including construction of oil refineries in Indonesia, with the Indonesian party. It is planned that thee Russian business will visit Indonesia by the end of the year.
Thomas Lembong, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, stated that the Indonesian national government was looking for food suppliers after serious damage inflicted to local rice producers by a destructive typhoon. Therefore, the Ministers of Trade from both countries agreed that the participants of the next business mission should discuss grain and innovative products supplies from Russia.
The second business mission will take place in late November during the second meeting of the task force team for commerce, industry, and investment of the Russian and Indonesian Intergovernmental Commission.
