Alexander Tsybulsky: The Tula region has filed an application to establish a special economic zone of industrial production type
Deputy Minister of Economic Development of of the Russian Federation Alexander Tsybulsky took part in the meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group (IWG) on socio-economic development of urban agglomerations on the issue of "Agglomeration projects and SEZ: effects and outcomes for development of territories", conducted by the Ministry of Economic Development of of the Russian Federation jointly with the Government of the Tula region.
This year, according to Tsybulsky, the region submitted an application to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation on creation of special economic zone of industrial production type. The documents are currently under consideration.
The IWG discussed the implementation of major investment projects such as special economic zones, industrial parks, territories of priority development, major infrastructure projects that could effectively and fully develop the territory.
The IWG meetin presented investment projects aimed at the development of the emerging urban agglomerations of Russia - Tula-Novomoskovsk, Makhachkala-Caspian, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Izhevsk.
Implementation of the agglomeration projects in the regions is now at different levels – from the development of management processes, documents of strategic and territorial planning to practical implementation of investment projects.
Opening the meeting of the working group, Alexander Tsybulsky said that Tula region was the initiator of the agglomeration movement. The Tula agglomeration project is being implemented in the framework of the regional strategy until 2030. Last year the region was among the 14 subjects of the Russian Federation, in which the agglomerations projects received high evaluation of experts.
"Often, economic zones are created in the zone of drawing an agglomeration. All of this is the tools of regional development", - the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation said.
