Alexey Ulyukaev Within presidency in APEC Peru investigates creation of the Asia-Pacific free trade zone

On November 16, 2015 the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexey Ulyukaev held negotiations with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Peru  Magali Silva Velarde-Álvarez in Manila (Philippines) within a joint meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Ministers of Trade of the APEC forum.

Alexey Ulyukaev noted that within the agenda of presidency of Peru it was succeeded to achieve progress in a number of important directions. During the Chinese presidency of a forum (2014) joint approaches to future creation of the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Zone (APFTZ) were created. "Practical steps of our economies, namely collaboration in Collective strategic research of matters of ATZST, certainly, will give a new impulse to this work", - the Head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation noted.

According to the Minister, Russia pays special attention to strengthening of coherence between economies of APEC and investments into infrastructure. "It is important to provide close interaction between the governments and a business community of economies of APEC in this work", - Alexey Ulyukaev told.
In recent years positive dynamics of development of the Russian-Peruvian trade and economic relations is observed: from 2009 to 2014 bilateral trade turnover grew by 2.7 times.

Alexey Ulyukaev specified that as priorities a work for attraction of investments into development of transport and port infrastructure, to diversification of transport and logistic routes, creation of the multimodal terminal and logistic centers, use of innovative technologies in transport and logistic chains is conducted.
He noted that during the Peruvian presidency in APEC we hope on continuation of the effective cooperation between the economies of two countries, mutual support of projects and initiatives, improvement of conditions for development of trade between the countries.
