Alexey Ulyukaev and European Commissioner confirmed the holding of the tripartite Ministerial Meeting of the Russia-EU-Ukraine in Brussels.

The Minister of Economic Development Alexey Ulyukaev, "in the field" of the WTO Ministerial Conference, held in Nairobi (Kenya), held a bilateral meeting with the EU's Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström.

At the meeting they talked about the positions of Russia and the EU in the World Trade Organization.

"We have similar positions with the EU in the WTO", - Alexey Ulyukaev said.

This also has been confirmed by the European Commissioner, stating previously that the functions of the World Trade Organization do not work properly, and the WTO needs a new format and extension of its activities.

That is why at the meeting the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and Cecilia Malmström discussed "the achievement of the agreement, first of all, on agricultural topics in the WTO – this is the second part of the Declaration, which includes export competition". According to Alexey Ulyukaev, "perspectives in the WTO negotiations are appearing, and the system of compromises is starting to work". "But we have one more day ahead to discuss our positions," - he said.

In addition, during the talks they confirmed the earlier scheduled on December 21, 2015 tripartite consultations at the Ministerial level of Russia-EU-Ukraine. "We have confirmed that such a meeting will be held in Brussels. We will consider the experts’ report, which is now being approved, and define the future perspective of the state of affairs relating to the conclusion of the agreement between Ukraine and the EU", - Alexey Ulyukaev said.
