Based on Finnish experience Tatarstan has realized many innovative projects


In the trade mission of Russia in Finland there was held Finland-Tatarstan Business Forum. The Head of Tatarstan delegation was the President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov. The representatives of business community took part in the Forum from Finnish side. They are interested in strengthening and developing business relationship with Russia and her regions. More than 70 people took part in the event.

The participants mentioned positive results of Tatarstani and Finnish enterprises cooperation and the potential of extension of contacts in the spheres of bioeconomy, clean technologies, IT.

Russian trade representative in Finland Valery Shlyamin informed that 45 Russian regions of 85 worked closely with Finnish partners. He emphasized that Tatarstan was a leader in investments, innovations and other spheres. “The visit of Tatarstani delegation to Helsinki is an anticipated event,” he noted. “I hope it will bring new projects and new initiatives.”

According to Minnikhanov, Tatarstan had realized a lot of innovative projects due to Finnish experience. “We introduce many innovative solutions in our economy studying Finnish experience,” he said. “There is much to learn here.”

In Helsinki Tatarstani delegation met the President of Finland Sauli Niinistö, the management of the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation "Tekes", Construction Concern "YIT" and "Aalto" University. In "Aalto" University the delegation visited its subdivisions of innovative activity development and support: business accelerators "Design Factory" and "Startup Sauna" and acquainted with the projects realized by them, including those in the IT sphere.

Following the visit a number of documents were signed concerning the expansion of cooperation. Particularly, there were signed an agreement between Tatarstani Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Finland-Russia Chamber of Commerce, Memorandum of Understanding between the Investment Development Agency of Tatarstan and Association of Encouraging Finnnish Export "Finpro" and Agreement between IT technology park "IT-park" and Small Business Center of "Aalto" University School of Business.
