Alexey Ulyukaev: The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation next year will be concentrated on the service trade obstacles removing and integration processes combination

Resulting from the APEC Summit which took place in Manila (the Philippines) the Minister of Economic Development of the RF Alexey Ulyukaev reported that the APEC priorities for the next year will be focused on the service trade obstacles removing and integration processes combination.

"There was a quite interesting discussion.  Today we had a discussion concerning development evaluation from the humanitarian point of view - the role of women, small and medium-sized businesses in the development. And it is very interesting that nowadays a little different abbreviation is used - we used to say SML referring to small, medium and large companies but now MSML is used with addition of micro-companies. It extends start up opportunities - a start-up budget, an initial development for participants - as much as possible. We also discussed educational topics and the problems caused by equality and inequality", - he commented on the completed session.

According to his words, "it was discussed on many bilateral meetings and leaders talk about it today that it is important to pay attention not only to the goods trade but also the service trade. Services ratio increases while their degree of freedom is less in comparison with the goods trading". "Now it is necessary to solve this problem", - emphasized the Minister.

He foretold about the future World Trade Organization Conference which will take place in Nairobi (Kenya) in 2015. "WTO issues was discussed as well. According to WTO recommendations: to approve the legal package in Nairobi, and we hope we can accomplish it in three known parts. They include equal conditions of export competition, the support of the least developed countries and ensuring transparency of regulation. It is talked a lot that it is absolutely necessary not to miss time after Nairobi but yet the further extent of the Doha round is not quite clear", - he mentioned.

Alexey Ulyukaev announced that next year during the chairmanship in APEC in Peru "the service issue will be emphasized". "A tourism development issue is very important for Peru", - clarified the Minister of Economic Development of Russia.

"Furthermore, opportunities for integration projects combination including the Trans-Pacific Partnership and other projects," - reported the Head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
