Russia and France Are Interested in Development of Common Innovative Projects


The meeting of the innovations working group of the Franco-Russian Economic, Financial, Industrial and Trade Council (CEFIC) was held in the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.

On opening the meeting the Director of the Department of Social Development and Innovations of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Artem Shadrin noted that bilateral innovative cooperation developed in the sphere of interaction between Russian innovative territorial clusters and French competitiveness clusters.

The working group members discussed the main directions of state assistance for innovative development and companies support including innovative and industrial clusters in Russia, the French reindustrialisation plan, state initiative “FrenchTech”, federal accelerator for technology startups “GenerationS”, the results of 2015 and perspective of bilateral cooperation both in clusters and competitiveness clusters and in innovative development institutes.

The French representatives told about the plans to create “FrenchTech” hub in Moscow, to launch the programs of Russian-French technological partnership PTRus, introduced the opportunities for cooperation within European program Horizon 2020.

During the meeting Russian party showed the perspective of cooperation in innovative and industrial clusters of Moscow and Moscow Oblast, the opportunities to share experience in innovations implementation and their testing in the capital of Russia. The French delegation responded positively to the cooperation between Île-de-France and Moscow (within recently created Moscow Innovations Agency). Besides that, Russian party presented their offers on the cooperation development in the spheres of biotechnologies, medicine, aerospace and agro-industrial technologies.

The participants planned further steps for development and attracting new technologies and innovations to Russia and France and for search of the opportunities to finance common projects.

“I think the meeting was very efficient, we have actual results and plans for the next year,” the deputy of the European and International Cooperation Director of the General Directorate of Business Policy of Ministry of the Economy, Industry and Digital Sector of France Anne Laurent noted. “We have a strong cooperation potential in different sectors, for example, innovative textile, aerospace, biotechnologies, biomedicine and agriculture. We need to take joint steps to develop this potential.”

The next meeting of the working group will be held in France in 2016.
