Minister Alexey Ulyukaev recognized as Financier of the Decade
On November 19, 2013 Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexey Ulyukaev was awarded with Big Money Award in the category “Financier of the Decade."
The 10th Anniversary Big Money Award Ceremony was held within the framework of the annual Day of Banker arranged by Itogi magazine and the International Rating Agency FitchRatings, together with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The "Financier of the Decade", Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexey Ulyukaev wished Russia some muscled years instead of many lean and fat years.
“People say, ten fat years, and then ten lean years ... Maybe we should think about how to replace lean years not with fat, but with muscled years when the creative energy starts to work better," said the head of the economic department, speaking at the Day of Banker 2013 Awards Ceremony.
Ulyukaev noted that "it (two thousandth years) was not fat, but getting-fat years, it became a little better. And now it's not lean, but less fat ones."
According to him, the achievements of recent years may include normal budgetary policy, adoption of budget rule, creation of sovereign funds and normal monetary policies and free exchange rate establishment. In addition, Russia's ability to develop itself within the framework of the WTO can be called an achievement, said Ulyukaev.
According to the minister of economic development, Russia will have to develop mechanisms to reduce costs, increase the competitiveness of the economy, which will allow the country to integrate into the global production chains. And then, he said, a better economic development forecast up to 2030 will be implemented, than the ministry has already stated.
