On October 13, 2010, in the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia in the framework of the 5th meeting of the Russia-EU dialogue on financial and macroeconomic policies, the Minister Elvira Nabiullina met with Olli Rehn, the European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs.


Participants of the meeting touched on the most topical issues of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the EU. In particular, the following were looked at: the issues of the economic recovery of the EU and Russia after the crisis, the prospects for Russia's entry into WTO, the initiatives for Russia's economic modernization, the economic impact of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, and macroeconomic forecasts for 2011-2013, initiatives aimed at promoting innovation in key industries and technologies. The parties also exchanged information on the implementation of structural reforms in Russia and the European Union.
