Minister Elvira Nabiullina met E. Timerman, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina
On May 23, 2011 Elvira Nabiullina, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation met E. Timerman, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina at the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
The Argentine delegation also included Julio De Vido, Minister of Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services of Argentina and Julian Dominguez, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Breeding and Fisheries of Argentina.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of development of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Argentina, including in the field of investment, modernization, and high technology. Elvira Nabiullina informed about the readiness of the Russian party to send a business mission to Argentina at the end of 2011 for the promotion of specific cooperation projects, especially in the field of energy efficiency and resource-saving.
It was noted that all conditions for activation of the Russian-Argentine cooperation in various fields, including in energy, including nuclear energy, alternative energy, railway transportation, geological exploration, agriculture and forestry, were available.
The parties welcomed the decision of the Argentine party to recognize the market status of the Russian economy, which will enable to step to a new level of bilateral cooperation.
E. Timerman said that Argentina fully supported the early accession of Russia to WTO.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Argentine Republic in the field of investment cooperation was signed.
