Deputy Minister A.A. Slepnev took part in a business meeting with the delegation of the Republic of India

On January 31, 2011 in Moscow, a Russian-Indian business meeting attended by representatives of government and business circles of both countries took place.

The Russian side was represented by Deputy Prime Minister S.B. Ivanov; the Indian side is by the Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of India Thottuvilil Krishnan Nair.

The plenary meeting was conducted by Deputy Minister A.A. Slepnev. In his speech he noted that Indian-Russian trade and economic relations, not least thanks to bilateral cooperation mechanisms are multifaceted and continues to grow steadily, based on mutual benefit, in an atmosphere of mutual confidence and predictability. In the coming five years, our countries should combine efforts of public and private structures to increase the cooperation with new initiatives opening vistas to modernize the economies of Russia and India and to bring them on the path of innovative development, said A.A. Slepnev.

At the plenary session, the Russian party made presentations on Skolkovo Fund and special economic zones in Russia, the Indian side conducted a presentation on IT and pharmaceuticals.

Director of the Department of Special Economic Zones and Project Funding of Ministry of Economic Development of Russia D.A. Levchenko shared information about the opportunities offered by special economic zones in the Russian Federation.

As a part of the meeting round tables on cooperation in the fields of information technology and pharmaceuticals were conducted, where participants were able to see presentations by companies and industrial clusters.

The business meeting was also attended by Chairman of the Board of Directors of AFK System OJSC V.P. Yevtushenkov, Director of the Department for International Development of Skolkovo Fund A.Yu. Sitnikov, and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation Prabhat Shukla.
